Corundum
The hardness of Sanding Stone, called EMERY, is 8-9 Mohs and is known as the hardest mineral after diamond. Sanding Stone ore is offered to the market after various crushing and sieving processes. It is usually gray in color and can sometimes be found in pink, bronze, red and green colors as gemstones. Its specific gravity varies between 3.9-4.1 g/cm3. Its melting point is 1950°C and it is resistant to acids other than Ca(HSO4)2.
