Quartz Sand
The formula of quartz is SiO2 and contains 46.5% Si and 53.5% O2 in pure form. Its hardness is 7 on the Mohs scale, its specific gravity is 2.65 g/cm3 and its melting temperature is 1785°C. It is one of the most common minerals in the earth's crust. It can be found in pink, gray, yellow and white colors in nature.
